The mission statement of DCA-VET runs as follows:
To offer aid and assistance to the population of Afghanistan by improving the health and productive output of the local livestock.
To
realize this mission, DCA-VET is developing programmes and implementing projects
to establish private, district-based veterinary field units (VFUs) throughout
Afghanistan.
We envisage a future in which:
• All livestock owners in Afghanistan have easy access to
veterinary care
• Animal health care is sustainable, so VFU staff can
practise veterinary services without donor funding
• Private and public veterinary services are working
successfully together.
Of course, DCA-VET is not able to realize her mission all by herself. To improve animal health and productivity throughout Afghanistan we are working together with comparable organizations. And it is due to various donors that DCA-VET has been able to commit herself to this mission for more than twenty years.
